David H. Cohen, Ph.D. Chief Advisor for University Relations
David Cohen has had a distinguished 20-year career as a neuroscientist, followed by 17 years as a senior university administrator. At Northwestern University, he served as provost after having been vice president for research and dean of the graduate school. Subsequently, he was vice president for arts and sciences and dean of the faculty at Columbia University. He is currently vice president and Dean of Faculty Emeritus for Arts and Sciences, Alan H. Kemper Professor Emeritus of Biological Sciences and Professor Emeritus of Neuroscience in Psychiatry.David has held a number of elected offices in national and international organizations, including president of the Society for Neuroscience and chairman of the Association of American Medical Colleges. He has served on the boards of numerous organizations, including Argonne National Laboratory, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, Zenith Electronics and the Columbia University Press. He has also served extensively on the advisory committees of various organizations, including the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the Department of Defense and the National Academy of Sciences. His current corporate board affiliations include service with Eduventures and Thuris. His not-for-profit board affiliations include The Grass Foundation and Trevor Day School (Manhattan). He is an advising partner of Knowledge Investment Partners.
David holds a B.A. from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Richard G. Hudak
After a tour of duty in Vietnam as a Marine Corps officer, he spent eleven years as a Special Agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Since 1981, Mr. Hudak has been employed in chief security officer positions with MBank (Texas), Bank Administration Institute (Chicago), ITT Sheraton Corporation (Boston) and Loews Corporation (New York City). From 2005-2006, Mr. Hudak instructed "Contemporary Issues in Security Management" as an adjunct professor in the Master's degree program at John Jay College (New York City). Currently, Mr. Hudak is managing partner, Resort Security International, specializing in hotel-resort, golf, ski and marina security consulting solutions. He has also incorporated RSC, Inc. to perform Security Expert litigation support in connection with premises liability lawsuits.Mr. Hudak is a member of the International Security Management Association, the American Society for Industrial Security, the Society of Former Agents of the FBI, and the Loss Prevention Committee for the American Hotel & Lodging Association. He serves on the Advisory Boards for I-OnAsia, NoblePeak Vision Corporation, PPM 2000, Inc., and Identity Theft 911, and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors, Safemark Systems, Inc. He resides in Delray Beach, Florida.
Richard graduated from Harvard University (BA) in 1966 and earned a Master's degree in 1978 from the Inter-American University School of Law (Puerto Rico).
Jean Noonan
Jean Noonan is managing partner of the Washington, D.C., office of Hudson Cook, LLP, where her practice focuses on consumer financial services, fair lending, privacy, and consumer protection matters. In this capacity, she counsels financial institutions and others in complying with laws related to consumer credit, privacy, telemarketing, and unfair trade practices. Jean has more than 30 years of legal experience in the financial services field. She served as a senior executive in the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection and as General Counsel of the Farm Credit Administration. At the Federal Trade Commission, Jean was Associate Director for Credit Practices, where she led the Commission's enforcement of consumer financial services laws. During her decade of service as the general counsel at the Farm Credit Administration, Jean led the legal work of this independent federal bank regulatory agency. Jean began her legal career as a trial attorney in the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection.Jean writes and lectures extensively on consumer financial services issues. She has testified before Congress on proposed legislation to amend financial privacy laws and on other proposed legislation affecting consumer financial services. She has served as an expert witness on consumer credit issues in federal court litigation. Jean is a member of the Consumer Financial Services Committee of the American Bar Association Business Law section and was chair of its Federal and State Trade Practices subcommittee. She also is a founding member of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers, where she has served on its Board of Regents. She is a member of the Governing Committee of the Conference on Consumer Finance Law.
Jean holds as J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. with departmental honors from Oklahoma State University.
Donald S. Nowicki
Donald S. Nowicki has been involved in the banking industry for nearly 30 years. He began his career in 1969 with Citibank, N.A. in New York. In 1978, he joined the Kenilworth State Bank as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Among his other executive responsibilities, he was in charge of all lending functions. When the Kenilworth State Bank was merged into the United Counties Trust Company in 1983, he was appointed senior vice president and senior loan officer responsible for all loan functions. Later, Donald was appointed president and director of the United Counties Trust Company, as well as president and director of its parent company, United Counties Bancorporation, and all of its subsidiaries. In 1996, United Counties Bancorporation merged with Meridian Bancorporation, and Donald was designated president of Meridian Bank New Jersey. With the merger of Meridian Bancorporation and CoreStates of Philadelphia, he retired formally from the banking industry.Since then, Donald has pursued diverse opportunities, notably as a business lender. He served as a principal at Progressive Financial Investments from March 2001 until December 2002. He currently is president and CEO of Nowicki Capital Group (NCG), an investment management company.
Donald received a B.S. in Finance from Seton Hall University and an M.B.A. from Wagner College.
John Ulzheimer
John Ulzheimer is a nationally recognized expert on credit reporting, credit scoring and identity theft. He has held management positions with Equifax Credit Information Services and the Fair Isaac Corporation, inventors of the FICO Credit Scoring System. He is currently the president of Consumer Education for Credit.com and of the Ulzheimer Group, where he focuses on consumer education through his many publications and public appearances.John is the author of the recently published "You're Nothing But A Number: Why Achieving Great Credit Scores Should Be on Your List of Wealth Building Strategies," the consumer handbook, "Surviving Identity Theft," and "The GetCreditWise Toolkit." He has appeared numerous times on CNBC, FOX, CNN and Oprah Winfrey's "Oprah and Friends," which broadcasts on XM Satellite Radio. He has contributed content to Freddie Mac's "Know Your Score" campaign, Oprah's "Debt Diet" series and The Suze Orman Show. He is also a regular commentator on credit-related issues for major media outlets including CNBC, MarketWatch, MSNBC.com, USA TODAY, the Los Angeles Times, CNN.com, the New York Times, Money Magazine, American Banker, and the Wall Street Journal. John teaches an ongoing course on credit reporting and scoring at the Emory University Center for Lifelong Learning and is a regular guest lecturer at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. John received a B.S. in criminal justice from the State University of West Georgia.
